Slayer is the backbone of mid game progression on Apex. It pays slayer points, it pays Blood Money, and it is the fastest route to most boss drops because task drop rate bonuses stack on top of everything else you carry.

Get to the masters with ::slayer or ::slay. Check your current task at any time with ::task.

Slayer masters

Masters are gated by combat level. Higher masters give harder tasks and pay substantially more points per completion.

Two masters are worth calling out because they break the usual pattern:

Krystilia pays the most points of any master at 40 per task, but every task must be completed in the Wilderness. You can be attacked the entire time.
Konar pays 30, more than Duradel, but ties each task to a specific location. You only get credit for kills made at the assigned spot.

If you are comfortable in the Wilderness, Krystilia is the highest points per task in the game. If not, Konar is the best safe option and beats Duradel by 50%.

Task streak milestones

Consecutive completed tasks build a streak, and hitting certain streak counts pays a large one-off bonus on top of the normal task points. Bonuses land at every 10th, 50th, 100th, 250th and 1000th task.

Turael pays no streak bonus, so skipping tasks at Turael to reroll a bad assignment costs you nothing in streak terms but earns you nothing either.

The milestone is checked against your total streak count, so a single 1000th task at Krystilia pays 1,250 points on its own. Protecting a streak is worth real money.

Cancelling and blocking

Cancelling a task costs 30 slayer points at base. Supporter rank reduces this, down to 5 points at Supreme Donator. The full table is in the Donator Benefits guide.

Blocking a task stops it being assigned again. Block the tasks you genuinely will not do rather than paying to cancel them every time they come up.

Superior encounters

Once unlocked with Bigger and Badder, task monsters have a chance to spawn a superior variant. Superiors hit harder but carry a much better drop table.

The base chance is 1 in 100 per kill. Three things improve it, and they stack:

Supporter rank, down to 1 in 75 at Supreme Donator
Combat achievement tier, improving the roll by up to 30% at Grandmaster
Slayer perk tree, through the Superior perk on each branch

Slayer unlocks

Slayer points buy permanent unlocks from any master. These are the ones most worth buying early.

Task extensions

Extensions make a given task type assign in larger amounts, which is what you want for anything with a good drop table. Most cost 100 points, with a few cheaper or dearer.

Blood Money and the perk tree

Slayer tasks also return Blood Money, which is the currency for the slayer perk tree. That tree is a separate progression track with its own drop rate, kill preservation and Blood Money bonuses, and three branches to choose between.

Recommended order

Train to combat 75 and use Konar, or 85 for Nieve if you would rather not be tied to locations.
Buy Bigger and Badder at 150 points as soon as you can afford it. Superiors are where the money is.
Buy Malevolent Masquerade at 400 for the slayer helmet.
Extend the tasks with good drop tables rather than spreading points across all of them.
Once comfortable, move to Krystilia for 40 points a task and the Wilderness drop rate bonus.
