Apex runs two separate task systems that reward you for things you were going to do anyway. Newcomer tasks are a one-off list for new accounts, and daily tasks reset every day for everyone.

Newcomer tasks

Ten tasks, each completed once, each paying a useful starting item. Open the list with ::newcomer.

Do these first. Every one of them is something you would do in your first few hours regardless, and the rewards feed straight back into the systems they introduce. The 5 Brimstone keys from skipping a slayer task are worth more than the points the skip costs.

Order to clear them

::train for Beach Weather, immediately.
::vote then ::claimvote for the Vote Claim.
::slayer and take a task. Complete it, then skip the next one to clear two tasks.
Open ::dailies and finish whichever daily is easiest.
Global boss and vote boss when they next spawn. Watch for the announcement, or check ::ab.

Daily tasks

You get five daily tasks at a time, drawn from a pool of over 200. Open them with ::dailies or ::dailytasks.

The pool is weighted heavily toward skilling, with around 185 skilling tasks against 27 PvM ones, so most days you will be given something you can finish while training normally.

Tasks are gated by skill level, so an account with low stats will not be handed elite herblore work. The required amount also varies within a range each time, meaning the same task can ask for 20 potions one day and 40 the next.

Rewards

Each of the five tasks carries its own item reward, claimed individually as you finish them. Clearing all five pays a bonus of 2,500 to 7,500 Apex points on top.

Apex points are spent at the rewards shop, and the newcomer task list wants you to spend 2,500 of them, so daily tasks and that newcomer task line up neatly.

Rewards need inventory space. If your inventory is full when you claim, the game will tell you rather than dropping the item, so clear a few slots first.

Deep wilderness dailies

A second daily task set runs specifically in the deep Wilderness, with its own five tasks and its own rewards. These are riskier by nature since you can be attacked throughout, but they run alongside the normal dailies rather than replacing them, so it is ten tasks a day in total if you want them.

Getting more from the system

Check dailies before you start training. If one of your five tasks is herblore and you were about to do woodcutting, doing them in the other order costs nothing and finishes a task.

Do them every day. The Apex points bonus is per day, not per task, so five easy tasks daily beats an occasional heavy session.
